How to Create a Production-Ready Mockup in 3 Steps

If you run a print shop or work with branded products, you know the process. A client sends a WhatsApp voice note. You manually build a mockup in Photoshop. You send it back. They ask for changes. You repeat.

A production-ready mockup does not have to be complicated. With the right workflow, you can create professional mockups in just a few steps.

Step 1: Pick a Product

The first step is choosing the product you are producing. The DesignPlix product library contains products from verified suppliers, with exact print dimensions included. This matters because most mockup errors happen when the artwork is designed for the wrong print area.

### How to do it

Open the Mockup Tool and browse the product library. Select your product and color variant. The print area dimensions appear automatically in millimeters — not pixels. This is what you hand to your vendor.

Each product shows all available views — front, back, left, right. Select the view your client needs to see. If you are producing an item with print on multiple sides, you can create separate mockups for each and share them all in one link.

Step 2: Upload Artwork and Position It

Upload your logo or design file directly into the tool. DesignPlix automatically removes the background using AI — you do not need to prepare a transparent PNG beforehand. This alone saves five to ten minutes per mockup.

Position the artwork on the product and adjust its size until it looks correct. You can preview the design before sending it to your client, helping you catch alignment and sizing problems early.

Step 3: Share and Download

Once the mockup looks right, you can share it with your client or download the final version.

Use the share link when you want the client to review the design. If the client needs the file for approval or production, download the mockup directly.

Keeping the product, artwork, and final mockup in one workflow makes the process faster and reduces unnecessary revisions.

What This Looks Like

A production-ready mockup workflow should be simple:

1. Pick the correct product and print area. 2. Upload and position the artwork. 3. Review, share, and download the final mockup.

Instead of spending time manually creating every mockup from scratch, you can use a repeatable process that is faster, more accurate, and easier to share with clients.
